We’re not a pure fashion platform, but clothing is a category that gets major attention and props in the collabs space.
Recently knighted for not only his genius in the cockpit of a race car, but his consistent and enduring activism around diversity, racism and inclusion. Lewis Hamilton is the embodiment of the assertive millennial mindset, so when he partners up with a brand like Tommy, you know he’s doing it to be part of the process, not just a face.
This seems to be reflected in the several product ranges Hamilton and Tommy has collaborated on since 2018, with reports that Lewis’ level of involvement ranges from design to selection of materials and striving for sustainability.
Athletes often sign deals with brands, but less often do they have a deep influence on the output of the collaboration. This one feels different, and perhaps why it continues to endure.
New SS21 collection likely to be arriving shortly, nicely timed with the start of the new Formula One Grand Prix season.
